Don’t Panic!

Okay, yes, I KNOW there is a banner ad down there. It’s just an experiment. I am doing some work relating to affiliate marketing programs and I’m just using the tools at my disposal. I am not trying to make money off of you guys. Settle down. Seriously. It’s not for real.

Really.

PhotoBlog

I moved all my old PhotoBlog images into a sub-gallery in the PhotoBlog gallery called Archived Photo Blog cause that pages was getting absurdly long. So, if you are missing the old stuff just click PhotoBlog and then click Archived Photo Blog. It’ll hang down near the bottom, I think.

Not much else to report. I’m still trying to grow back my face. It’s taking too long.

Missing: My Face

Wow. For a while now I have been wanting to shave my goatee and mustache to see what my face looked like again. It’s been almost a year since I’ve shaved. So tonight I decided to do it. And now I’d like it back please. I don’t know me!

I’m gonna be a Grizzly Adams looking motherfucker for the next week or so…

Thousand Year Orange Juice

Man, it’s been a busy bunch of days. So much to tell so let’s start with Thursday. Thursday I worked a normal day and then headed off to Scotty’s for the Fazed Party Pre-Party Party. We hung around on Scott’s balcony while Fazers slowly trickled in and spent some time meeting people. There were Jello shots, lots of beer and tons of pizza so everyone pretty much got tanked while we waited for everyone to arrive. Once they did we all headed off to the haunted houses under the 12th street bridge for some getting scared.

The haunted houses seemed a lot less scary this year than last. Probably because people were lit and being silly, which was cool, and because we had such a large group. It was still a lot of fun but not scary. I called it a pretty early night cause I had to work in the morning and I was fighting off a nasty cold.

So Friday I ended up calling out of work cause I woke up feeling like hell. I slept for most of the day and eventually headed down to the party suite at the Fairmont to get the Fazed party really going. Friday night kicked it hard core, and kicked me down pretty hard core. I only lasted till about 12:30 before everything caught up with me and I passed out. Ended up sleeping the night away and most of the morning. I did get to meet a ton of great Fazers and caught up with some of the folks I’ve met before.

Saturday was the great scavenger hunt and it was a ton of fun. I was the team leader for Team Awesome and we had a great time. We made plenty of people, strangers and ourselves, uncomfortable and pushed all kinds of buttons. And Casie got to try on a $174,200 diamond ring. Ouch.

Soon it was time for more party suite madness and everyone slowly made their way back there. It took longer to get things rolling this time but by midnight the party was in full, full swing. We had one noise complaint during the scavenger hunt awards ceremony but aside from that the Fairmont handled us pretty well. Things wrapped up at something absurd like 6:30am. In between was inflatable light sabers, the shocker game, the great pumpkin hunt, lots of clothes sharing, bed acrobatics, early morning Panchos and me getting my head smacked into the wall. Hard.
Lots of other stuff too, but those are the bits I remember.

Sunday people started heading back to their homes and the party was over. A small group of us hit up some First Watch and said our goodbyes. I went to bed for a few hours and then spent a few hours working on a Yahoo Personals profile. It worked for some of my friends, so maybe it’ll work for me. It’s been almost a year since Kelly and I broke up and while there’s been some interests in the time since there hasn’t been anything serious. No matter how much I wish there had been. So I’ll be entering the wide, wonderful world of dating. Should be exciting, and terrifying. I’ve pretty much had a steady girlfriend my entire life, so I feel a bit unprepared for this. Maybe that’s good.

This morning I got some orange juice out of the vending machine at work and it looked kinda weird. Not so much orange, but pus colored. So I checked the expiration date before I dumped it in my belly and it said “JAN 3005”.
Thousand Year Orange Juice.

All the photos from the weekend are available at Fazed Party on Flickr. Yea, I know that I should keep my clothes on in public. I don’t know what my problem is.

T Minus

Well, JoLynn’s birthday party was a roaring success! There was presents, cake, drinking games, Twister, running around in the rain with no shirts on, throwing up in the side yard, lots of people and to top it all off JoLynn woke up at 11am still hammered. Success! Over the course of the night we had about 25 people come through which is pretty decent for my tiny little house. And the next morning it looked like it. Man, what a mess.
I haven’t seen any pictures from the party yet, so hopefully some will show up soon.

Sunday I went and saw Serenity with James and Courtney and loved it. Very good movie and now I am all obsessed with Firefly; the series the movie was based on. Last night I downloaded all 14 episodes, spent about 2 hours getting DivX to work on my Mac and then watched a few. I used my laptop to play the video on my TV and run the sound through the home theater system and it looked and sounded great. So that helped pass the time, and passing the time is what I am all about this week.

I am unnaturally excited for Thursday to get here, as I’ve mentioned before. And now it’s finally getting close! Tomorrow night we head off to see Coheed and Cambria in Lawrence and then early Friday morning we board the train for Sandusky, OH and roller coaster fun! It’s gonna be so great. There’s a lot of reasons to be excited about this trip, but I think one of the biggest things is just getting away for a few days. It’s been a busy, stressful year so far and break sounds really freakin’ good.

Amtrak called me last night, which sucked. As soon as they said it was Amtrak calling and asked to speak to me I figured they were calling to tell me the train was broken, or blew up or went missing or something. Not so! They just wanted to sell me a luxurious private room for the rides between Kansas City and Chicago! Tempting, but they wanted another $75 and that’s just not in the budget. So I guess we’ll be riding along with the rest of the chumps.

Ugh… 29 more hours…

Pranks

Turning all my shirts inside out and putting them back on the hangers… That’s a good prank. Takes some thought, some effort. I can appreciate that. But whoever decided to fill my medicine cabinet with shaving cream is a fucking asshole.

Pork

I’ve been pigging out for the last week and a half or so but the number of the scale keeps staying the same, and in the case of last night actually going down. 207.8 this morning. What the hell is up with that?

The only thing I can figure is that I must be losing muscle at an incredible rate to keep up with the fat I am putting back on! Hooray fat!

Okay, not so much hooray really. I need to stay thin(ish) for at least another week. I don’t know if I ever said or not (and I’m too lazy to go back and check) but a big part of the reason I started dieting was because I had a really embarassing episode at Worlds of Fun last year. One of my favorite rides is the Detonator and I decided to ride it. It has an over the shoulder harness and when they went to lower the harness I basically didn’t fit. There is a green light over the harness and you have to press down on the harness until it turns green, otherwise you’ll be decapitated and they’ll find your head over by the snowcone concession.

So the ride operator is pushing and pushing and collapsing my chest and I’m getting completely embarassed. Eventually it’s clear I simply won’t fit so they move me to another seat which works fine. Which, to be honest, makes me a bit concerned about the quality control of the ride manufacturer, but whatever.

So the fact that I couldn’t fit into a ride I liked, and the fact that I had been uncomfortable all day really with my ass overflowing the roller coaster seats and such and the fact that my doctor soon after told me I was going to die if I didn’t lose weight is what made me start dieting.

And to bring this back around to the point I was making in the third paragraph, I am going to Cedar Point next week and it would be pretty cool, and very redeeming if I could fit in the fucking seats of the rides. You know? It’s the simple things that I find important.

I found it really difficult to keep losing weight over the summer, but last winter it seemed really easy. That could be due to a few things. One, of course, is that I don’t go out as much during the winter. More time for not eating, and not drinking and more going to the gym. The other is that it seems like I developed a bit of a social life over the last year which has certainly made dieting more difficult.

So, yea. What was I saying? Man, I smell like pizza.

Daydreamin’

If I started to mosh down the cubicle hallway everyone would think I was nuts, but they would be doing it too if they could hear the music in my head.

Woo! Is it time to go home yet?

Please Help

For the love of God, if you aren’t working today please go outside and throw a frisbee around, or sit under a tree and read, or take the dog for a walk in the park or SOMETHING. Christ, it’s beautiful out. And I am stuck in a cubicle.
