Does anyone know what this thing on my foot is?
Fucking aliens…
In keeping up with The Joneses I went ahead and implemented a photo blog type thingy on my site. You should be seeing a picture to the left and below my menu which is the latest picture I have uploaded with my camera phone and if you click it you should be able to see all the pictures I’ve uploaded with my camera phone. It’s an old idea, but it’s still pretty cool and I like it.
For the curious:
It’s an 11 line shell script that gets triggered from procmail. It grabs a Sprint URL from a standard Picture Mail message, uses wget to get the page and associated images, makes wild assumptions about what the image should be named, copies it to my Photo Blog gallery and my current webcam image which you see on the left.
If I want to take a picture and have it appear on my site all I do is snap the pic and send it to a certain email address on my server. It’s three clicks.
Behold! The Internet!
I totally felt my spine this morning. That’s so awesome.
210.0
I decided to cut the week of starvation short. I was in rough shape this morning. Going to try to bring myself back to life today and then just stick to the normal diet for the rest of the time. I think I accomplished what I wanted to do though, which was to break through 214 where I had been stuck. As long as I eat carefully over the next few days I should be able to keep that off and finally reach my goal.
Believe me, I’m ready to be done dieting.
“This is the first human-poultry interaction system ever developed,” said professor Adrian David Cheok, the leader of the team, who has been developing the technology for nearly two years.

So, aparently some confused person out there on WebTV had some questions and decided to check out The Intarweb for answers! Luckily MSN Search was able to help this poor, tortured soul with his query “playing doctor put my pee in hers” with a link to my helpful site.
Hope you found what you were looking for bud.
Well, I seriously doubt that I managed a 3500 calorie deficit yesterday but there goes another pound. Let’s see here:
1 Slim Fast 180 calories
1 Large slice of pizza 400 calories?
1/2 small turkey sammich 200 calories?
780 calories for the day.
This site says I need 3157 calories a day so let’s go with a deficit of 2377. That leaves me with losing about 3/4 of a pound. Where did the rest go? I did my normal nightly workout but I don’t think 50 situps, 20 pushups and 10 minutes of chasing the dog around the house burned 1300 calories.
Maybe it’s brain mass. I was certainly a little more stupid than usual yesterday.
Well, it seems my Day of Torture successfully undid all the damage done to me this weekend, and really over the past few weeks. This weekend my sister was in town for a visit and we did nothing but eat out. Add on to that Friday night which was a night of drunken debauchery that spread across the entire city and my diet was pretty much a thing of the past.
I didn’t even weigh myself Sunday or Monday, if you can imagine.
So yesterday I woke up with every intention of getting seriously back on track. Had my Slim Fast and then remembered I had to go to a Mexican place for lunch for someone’s last day at work. *Sigh*
I can’t resist chips and salsa. It’s a known fact. I probably ate 2000 calories worth, then some fried stuff with chicken and cheese and more salsa. Damnit!
The rest of the day I ate nothing. I also mowed the lawn, went to the gym and did double situps and pushups. Fell asleep around 7:30pm out of sheer exhaustion, woke up around 10:00pm, more situps, asleep till 11pm and then more situps before finally going to bed at 3:00am.
I’m hurting today, to say the least. Not enough sleep and my arms feel broken, but the scale said 213.6 so mission accomplished. Now I just have to stick to a tight diet and workout schedule for the next 4 days so I can make Monday count.
I’ve found that I can do days where I just completely starve myself and have it be useful as long as I don’t break in the few days afterwards. That’s the hard part 🙂
Dear Hooverphonic,
Please come to Kansas City, or even the United States.
Love,

So I’m reading “The Dark Tower VII” by Stephen King this evening and I come across this paragraph. It’s so unlike anything else in the book, or really anything else he’s ever written that I was struck by it.
Do any of us, except in our dreams, truly expect to be reunited with our hearts’ deepest loves, even when they leave us only for minutes, and on the most mundane of errands? No, not at all. Each time they go from our sight we in our secret hearts count them as dead. Having been given so much, we reason, how could we expect not to be brought as low as Lucifer for the staggering presumption of our love?
